Sheffield school issues heartbreaking tribute to popular teacher after tragic death

A Sheffield school is in mourning today after the tragic death of a popular long serving teacher.

Alison Howarth, who had worked at the All Saints School Catholic High School on Granville Road since 1995, lost a long battle with illness, it was announced today.

She was well known for teaching England and her work with pupils with special educational needs and disabilities.

Her death was announced on the school’s Twitter account.

It stated: “It’s with great sadness that we share with you that on Wednesday evening Alison Howarth, a highly respected and much loved member of our teaching staff passed away following a period of ill health.

"Mrs Howarth had worked at All Saints since 1995 as an English and SEND teacher.”

The school added: “Her passing is a great loss to all who knew and were taught by her. Alison will always be a part of our All Saints community. May she rest in peace.”
