Tablet donations boost digital access for South Yorkshire charities
South Yorkshire charities have received tablet donations from Quickline Communications to provide gigabit capable connectivity.
Working in partnership with South Yorkshire’s Community Foundation, Quickline has gifted almost 20 local charities with devices. Beneficiaries include The Exodus Project in Barnsley, Doncaster Housing for Young People, and Grow UK in Sheffield.
The initiative forms part of an ongoing partnership that established two funds, Moving on Up and Q Futures, awarding grants of up to £15,000 to tackle regional unemployment.
Quickline stated the donations support Project Gigabit, with further distributions scheduled for this autumn. Recipient organisations reported the tablets will aid programme delivery, activity clubs, and employability workshops for young people.
Quickline also gifted tablets to South Yorkshire’s Community Foundation, which has awarded £40m across the region over 40 years. Foundation manager Jess O'Neill noted the devices will help organisations work more effectively through improved digital access.
