The company picked up a bronze award in the £5-50 million project category at the National Site Awards 2026, specifically for its work on Waverley, hailed as one of the region’s most ambitious new communities.

The awards event was organised by the Considerate Constructors Scheme, which supports and drives positive change in the construction industry, recognising the efforts that constructors have made to be the most considerate neighbours.

They also reward the companies that are creating value in the communities surrounding them and those that are respectful of the public, the workforce, and the environment.

The Sky-House Co team were at the Manchester ceremony to receive their award from Desiree Blamey, the Managing Director of the Considerate Constructors Scheme.

The latest Sky-House Co addition to the Waverley development is Waverley Central, a 4.2 acre site at the heart of Waverley, featuring 96 new homes in a series of house types based on Sky-House Co’s concept inspired by the revival of Victorian and Georgian urban design principles.

The site, adjacent to Waverley’s new Olive Lane retail sector, includes two-bed starter homes, three and four bed mews and town houses and a range of larger detached homes with various tenures.

“Following the success of our two well-established Waverley sites, Waverley Central places us even more firmly at the very centre of the Waverley community, creating a homely, lively and sustainable residential heart, with a focus on the human experience in scale, atmosphere and walkability,” said Sky-House Co founder and director David Cross.

“It’s our most innovative development yet, with hi-tech and sustainable design featuring semi-modular construction, air-source heat pumps, PV solar panels and EV charging too.

“What this award also demonstrates, however, is the way in which we constantly strive to work with our neighbours, building with care and with a determination to cause the least disruption.

“We are delighted that once again, the Sky-House brand is being recognised at a national level.”

Other Sky-House Co sites across the region include developments at Stocksbridge, Oughtibridge and Killamarsh.

It’s Sheffield city developments at Devonshire Quarter and Copper Street are now both approaching completion while plans for a new site alongside the Porter Brook in the Cultural Quarter will deliver 31 two, three, four and five-bedroom houses, along with a distinctive mixed-use pavilion building featuring a café-bar and a two-bedroom apartment.
