The NaDCAS gold accreditation recognises the Beighton home’s ongoing commitment to delivering high-quality, person-centred dementia care and creating positive experiences for people living with dementia, their families, and the wider community.

NaDCAS is a nationally recognised, evidence-based accreditation framework that supports providers to continuously improve dementia care across nine core foundations, including leadership, staff development, wellbeing, participation and engagement, emotional connection and the environment.

The gold accreditation for Knowle Hill - one of the nine homes operated by city charity Sheffcare - reflects the dedication and hard work of the home’s team, who have worked collaboratively to strengthen dementia care practices and enhance the quality of life of those they support.

To achieve accreditation, the team demonstrated that residents living with dementia receive compassionate, personalised support that promotes dignity, independence and wellbeing.

“This is an important achievement for the home and a reflection of the passion and commitment of our entire team," said Knowle Hill manager Michelle Wright.

"We are committed to continually improving the care and support we provide and the NaDCAS framework has helped us build on our strengths, challenge ourselves to do even better, and ensure that the people we support remain at the heart of everything we do.”
