Sheffield Children’s marks 150 years with free family celebration
Sheffield Children’s NHS Foundation Trust is inviting children and families to join a special event celebrating 150 years of caring for children and young people.

On Saturday, November 14, the trust will mark this significant milestone, reflecting its long history of providing outstanding care and supporting healthier lives across generations.
Since it opened in 1876, Sheffield Children’s has been deeply rooted in the community. The trust acknowledges the vital role played by the children and families it serves, its partners, supporters of Sheffield Children’s Hospital Charity, and generations of staff and volunteers in shaping the organisation into the trusted institution it is today.

To commemorate the anniversary, a free family birthday party will be held at The Spark, Sheffield Children’s state-of-the-art facility located at the Sheffield Olympic Legacy Park. The event offers a variety of activities for children and families, including a Teddy Bear’s Hospital experience, interactive games with Playful Anywhere, creative sessions with Kids Invent Stuff, birthday crafting with ArtPlus, and a marketplace featuring community organisations and Sheffield Children’s teams.
The celebration will be divided into three sessions, allowing families to select a convenient time to attend. While the event is free, tickets must be booked online in advance for all members of each group.
Tickets can be reserved at www.ticketsource.com/sheffield-childrens-nhs-foundation-trust.
This event is part of the wider 150th anniversary celebrations recognising Sheffield Children’s enduring commitment to enhancing the health and wellbeing of children and young people in Sheffield, South Yorkshire, and beyond.
