Electric Studios Strengthens Live Programme with We Are Scientists' 20th Anniversary Show
We Are Scientists will bring the 20th anniversary tour of their landmark debut album With Love and Squalor to Electric Studios on Saturday, October 3, 2026, as Sheffield's newest music venue continues to build one of the region's most ambitious live music programmes.

Originally released in 2005, With Love and Squalor helped define a generation of indie rock, propelling the New York trio onto the international stage with enduring favourites including Nobody Move, Nobody Get Hurt, After Hours and Chick Lit. Two decades on, the band are celebrating the album with a special anniversary tour that revisits the record that established them as one of the standout acts of the 2000s indie scene.
The band are no strangers to Sheffield, having previously appeared at Tramlines in 2012 and 2017, and now return to the city as part of Electric Studios' expanding live music programme.
Since opening earlier this year, Electric Studios has quickly established itself as one of Sheffield's most exciting new venues, bringing together acclaimed touring artists, cult favourites and emerging talent. This weekend sees The Lathums take to the stage, while forthcoming performances from The Lemonheads, Overpass, Reef, Barenaked Ladies and The View, who return in 2027 to celebrate the 20th anniversary of Hats Off to the Buskers, continue to build a diverse calendar of live music. Meanwhile, St Etienne sold out months in advance, underlining the growing demand for the venue's programme.
The venue's commitment to live music sits alongside an equally ambitious electronic programme. Recent announcements have included Chicane and Dusky, joining a club calendar that has already welcomed artists including Wilkinson, Camo & Krooked, Culture Shock, Ross From Friends, Jeremy Underground, Call Super, Sully and Samurai Breaks. Together, the programme reflects Electric Studios' ambition to champion both live bands and electronic music under one roof.
Following an extensive refurbishment, Electric Studios has welcomed thousands of visitors since opening earlier this year. Working with leading promoters and local collectives, the venue has rapidly built a reputation for presenting everything from grassroots artists and breakthrough acts to internationally recognised names across indie, alternative, electronic, house, techno, drum and bass, reggae and live performance.
