Cygnet Hospital Sheffield celebrates international nurses day
A hospital for young people in Sheffield celebrated the impact of its nurses on the lives of individuals with mental health needs.

Pegasus Ward at Cygnet Hospital Sheffield marked International Nurses Day on 12 May, recognising the vital skill, dedication and contribution of nursing professionals.
Located on East Bank Road, Pegasus Ward is one of Cygnet Hospital Sheffield’s CAMHS wards, offering a 13-bed acute service for young people with mental health needs.
The hard-working nurses enjoyed a variety of sweet treats baked by a colleague before receiving a portrait drawn by the young people supported on the Cygnet Health Care ward.
Shane Mills, Cygnet Group Director of Nursing and Quality, recognised the exceptional contributions of nurses across the entire organisation.
He said: “Across our services, nurses demonstrate compassion, professionalism, innovation and leadership in the care they provide to the people we support, across Cygnet Health Care and Cygnet Social Care services.
“Our nurses’ compassion inspires hope, their courage transforms lives and their presence proves healing is possible. We are thankful for our nurses’ unwavering dedication and the life-changing impact they make every day.”
Cygnet Group has a 2,000-strong nursing workforce across England, Scotland and Wales, making it the leading health and social care provider’s biggest profession.
