He has since won prizes at international piano competitions such as the Leeds, Géza Anda and Horowitz.

He has appeared as a piano soloist with the BBC National Orchestra of Wales, City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra, Royal Liverpool Philharmonic and London Mozart Players in the UK.

At the Brigantes concert on June 20, he will play George Gershwin’s celebrated Piano Concerto in F as part of evening celebrating great American classics.

There will be a nod to Broadway with Gershwin’s Overture to 1930s musical Girl Crazy and Leonard Bernstein’s Overture to Candide.

And the great sound of the American West will be represented by Aaron Copland’s Four Dance Episodes from Rodeo.

The Brigantes Orchestra, recently a finalist in the Sheffield Lord Mayor’s Awards for its work with local schools, is Sheffield’s own professional orchestra and has been performing to critical acclaim in the city since 2019.

The orchestra’s current season of six concerts at Sheffield Cathedral has been its biggest to date.
