Youths hailed by community
YOUNG people in a Derbyshire village have won a prestigious award in recognition of their hard work for the community.
The village of Creswell, near Worksop, was voted Derbyshire Village of the Year in a contest run by Calor. Creswell then went on to represent Derbyshire in the national Village of the Year competition, where it was crowned overall winner in the Young People category for the Central England region.
Judges praised the village’s young people for “fully embracing” the community and introducing a number of initiatives including a youth club.
