Youngsters volunteer to serve their country
ATTENTION! These young South Yorkshire men have all enlisted in the army and are looking forward to the start of their new careers.
All of the new recruits are aged 16 and enlisted together at the Sheffield Army Careers Office.
Two of the boys, all of whom are from Sheffield, have signed up with The Yorkshire Regiment. The rest have joined The Coldstream Guards, The Royal Signals, The Royal Engineers, The Parachute Regiment and the REME.
They will start their phase one training at the Army Foundation College in Harrogate, after which they will join their respective regiments to undertake more specific training.
