Youngster's thank you to hospital staff

POORLY youngster Bethany Harcourt was so impressed by her stay at Sheffield Children's Hospital that she decided to say thankyou by donating her pocket money.

The 10-year-old Rotherham girl was taken to the Accident and Emergency department when she suffered breathing problems earlier this year.

She said that the staff were so kind that she wanted to stay longer!

In return for her enjoyable visit, she collected all her loose change and pocket money, and handed the 40 to the hospital's Bear Two appeal for a specialist ambulance.

The Children's Hospital is trying to raise 120,000 for the state-of-the art mobile intensive care vehicle.

Bethany, who lives in Scholes, said: "The staff were so kind to me. I have been collecting money for the hospital ever since."

Bethany found out about the appeal through Theo's Club - which is named after hospital mascot Theo the bear and is open to all young patients.
