The lives of nine men who served in the First World War are to be brought to life during special storytelling events.
Acclaimed storyteller Simon Heywood will illustrate how the men went from Sheffield civilians and Walkley Reformed Club members to soldiers fighting and dying on the Western Front.
The events are based on the research of the Walkley Historians who have traced the men’s lives from birth through childhood, early careers to enlisting in the army and their deaths on the battlefields of France and Flanders.
The stories will be told during two performances at 2pm and 3.30pm on November 29 at Walkley Community Centre. Tickets, costing £2.50, are available from Beeches of Walkley on South Road, Walkley.
