Vital benefits handed out

VITAL benefit payments were hand-delivered after a Sheffield company stepped in to beat the postal strike.

Staff at Liberata delivered benefits to vulnerable customers across the city.

Emma Hall, technical and fraud group leadera, said: "Many of our vulnerable customers would have received their benefits up to a week late, which could have left them in arrears and unable to pay landlords.

"We decided to hand-deliver benefits because we knew the strikes could have a detrimental effect on our customers."
