The View star Kyle going solo for Sheffield show

After five hit albums as the lead singer of The View, Kyle Falconer has announced details of his debut solo long-player, as well as a solo headline tour including a Sheffield date.

The 31-year-old, who, as The View frontman, enjoyed success with songs such as Same Jeans and Superstar Tradesman of number one debut album Hats Off to the Buskers, releases No Thank You on Friday, July 27.

Describes as a “raw and brutally honest collection of songs”, much of it was written during a period from entering rehab in summer 2016 through to the present day where he is embracing a new life and outlook as a father.

Lead single Poor Me has a chorus based on the Alcoholics Anonymous mantra “poor me, poor me, pour me another drink”.

Kyle says: “Everyday you get triggers and traumas stuck in your head, and you’re hearing all of these horrible stories.

“You want to hear it, but at the same time you’re thinking ‘I’m here to help myself, but I’ve got to hear everyone else’s story’.

“It’s quite hard to hear, and I was thinking that a lot of these people were worse off than me.”
