Petrol head fans of the adrenaline-fuelled Fast and Furious movies - where the muscle cars are the stars - are in for a high octane treat when the action explodes off the big screen and into real life.

Screeching tyres, burning rubber, petrol fumes, all the drifting and spectacular stunts from the film franchise are coming to Sheffield's FlyDSA Arena.

Fast & Furious Live, a two-hour show, will vroom into the venue for its only Yorkshire pit stop with three shows, including Saturday matinee, from Friday to Sunday, April 27 to 29.

Billed as the most spectacular live arena production ever, it has been built on precision performance driving and new physics-defying stunts.

Favourite cars from the films will appear to race out of a big screen into the area itself, using locations that criss-cross the globe, brought to life with state-of-the-art 3D projection mapping.

It will transport fans into an immersive world of awe-inspiring moments from Universal Pictures’ record-breaking film series - including an incredible life like airplane crash, an exploding tanker and a nuclear submarine popping up out for the arena floor.

Fans are told they will feel the heat from flaming exhausts as they marvel at motor acrobatics as scene after scene unfolds enhanced by the most advanced digital projection technology imaginable.

Featuring several original cars from the films, as well as exact replicas of fan favourites — from Dom’s legendary Dodge Charger to the flip car from Fast & Furious 6 - Fast & Furious Live will evoke some of the boldest moments from the franchise.

In an exclusive chat bosses said stunt cars may well fly at the FlyDSA Arena.

"We'll be bringing to life all the great stunts fans have seen on the big screen," promised Fast & Furious Live creative director and executive producer, Rowley French.

The film series has earned more than $5 billion at the worldwide box-office but now fans are getting closer than ever to the spectacular action in a combination of fast moving metal, performance art and drama.

Characters played by Elysia Wren and Mark Ebulue in the live show are tracking down a master criminal - the plot ends there. This, like the film, is all about the action, recognising movie cars and unmissable thrills.

Thousands of the world’s best stunt performers and drivers applied for the opportunity to join the production and, following extensive auditions, have been whittled down to the ultimate elite team who completed a rigorous four-month training camp in preparation for the world tour.

They will be joined by some of the world’s leading parkour athletes - a global cast who will be performing stunts and ground breaking never-before-seen live action. The cast includes stunt drivers from all over the UK and Northern Ireland.
