Unlucky 13 post offices will be axed

THIRTEEN post offices in north Derbyshire and north Nottinghamshire are to be closed as part of plans to shut 2,500 outlets across the country by the end of next year.

The 13 are part of 77 post offices due for the axe in the East Midlands. A further seven are to go in Doncaster as part of a blueprint to cut back 45 post offices in East Yorkshire.

The post offices to go in north Derbyshire and north Notts are at Bonsall, Matlock, Main Street in Bolsover, Edensor near Bakewell, Elmton Road in Creswell, Nesbit Street, Bolsover, Starkholmes Road, Matlock, Clowne Road Chesterfield, Chesterfield Road, Shuttlewood, Moshall near Bakewell, Smedley Street East in Matlock, Thuvaston Road. Ashbourne, Market Place, Ashbourne and Queens Road in Hodthorpe near Worksop.
