University get-together

FRIENDS will be reunited this weekend as The University of Sheffield stages its first ever official get-together for former students and classmates.

Invited to the party are students who graduated 25, 30, 40 and 50 years ago.

Graduates from the years 1957, 1967, 1977 and 1982 will attend the event on Saturday to catch up with old friends, as well as see the exciting developments happening on the university campus.

The main focus will be a drinks reception and dinner in Firth Hall in Firth Court, one of the university’s oldest and most renowned buildings. The dinner will be hosted by pro-vice chancellor Professor Peter Fleming.

Alumni will have the opportunity to go on campus tours, visit the students’ union and its centenary show, and view the university’s history exhibition.

There will also be an exclusive preview of the brand new, state-of-the-art Information Commons library building, ahead of its official opening.
