TV favourite joining Radio 1

CHILDREN'S TV favourite Richard 'Dick' McCourt will make his weekend debut on Radio 1 this Sunday as part of a big schedule shake-up.

Sheffield-born Richard, one half of TV tricksters Dick and Dom, was brought up in Lodge Moor and began his presenting career on Sheffield Child-ren's Hospital radio.

He spent eight years with the voluntary station as a radio host, and as a TV presenter for the hospital's internal network. While studying media at college, Richard also hosted a live kids' TV show in Meadow-hall shopping centre.

Now 31, Richard joined the BBC as a presenter for CBBC - the children's network - in 1996 and is most famous for wacky show Dick and Dom in Da Bungalow with his comic partner Dominic Wood. The pair have won two children's Baftas.

Now the madcap duo will join the Radio 1 weekend line-up from 10am to 1pm every Sunday, starting this weekend.
