Tumble dryer sparks blaze
A KITCHEN was gutted and the rest of the house was smoke damaged after a fire broke out in a tumble dryer.
Firefighters were called to the house in Holgate Crescent, Parson Cross, to find that the blaze had spread to the rest of the kitchen which was well alight.
The householders - a mother and her four children - escaped without injury, but the whole of the house suffered smoke damage.
It is thought that a smoke alarm fitted at the property failed to go off.
