Treasured photos saved

A STAR reader has reunited a Sheffield mum with treasured pictures of the daughter she lost to leukaemia.

Kim Smith, aged 50, of Gaunt Road, Gleadless Valley, was devastated when she accidentally left her four favourite pictures of her daughter Leann on the number 47 bus at Newfield Green Shops.

Luckily Lyn Gelsthorpe, 48, from Newfield Green, who had found two of the missing pictures spotted an appeal in The Star and contacted us.

She said: “When I read the story I knew I had to get them back to Kim. I just wish I had found the other two photos.”

Kim said: “I am absolutely delighted to have the pictures of Leann back.

“You have no idea how much they mean to me. We had other photos of Leann but these were my favourite ones.”

Kim and her husband David, 49, were left heartbroken when 16-year-old Leann died in 1998.
