TRAFFIC: M1 delays continue

DEELAYS were expected to continue into the evening after an accident on the M1 northbound slip road at junction 34.

Emergency services were informed of the accident at around 5.45am after athe articulated lorry carrying bundles of cardboard toppled over at the start of the northbound entry slip road.

It caused congestion during the early morning rush hour as traffic was diverted away from the lorry, but a decision was taken to keep the roundabout open until the rush hour was over before attempting to get the lorry upright again.

The roundabout was partially reopened at 11am.

It was expected to take some time for the debris and the lorry's shed load to be removed.
