These restaurants and takeaway places can deliver Christmas dinner straight to your door in Sheffield

But the imposition of Tier 3 restrictions on the city means diners won’t be able to eat in at venues until rules are relaxed – creating an air of uncertainty about hospitality businesses’ festive prospects.

However, several places have already announced that they will be offering complete Christmas meals for delivery direct to customers’ doors, taking all the hassle out of cooking.

Here are those that have revealed their plans so far – more are likely to get involved as Advent gathers pace.

Rafters

Fine dining restaurant Rafters, at Nether Green, is running a Christmas version of its ‘At Home’ service which has proved popular this year. “We do all the preparations, all you have to do is warm it up and plate it like a chef,” say the owners Alastair Myers and Tom Lawson. Choose from a range of starters, then pick either a Ford Farm turkey ballotine or 50-day salt aged beef sirloin for main course – dessert comes in the shape of a Bullion chocolate yule log with mulled cherry. Brocco On The Park

Boutique hotel and restaurant Brocco On The Park, at Hunters Bar, is offering the full gamut – there is a three-course festive menu available for delivery on Friday nights in the run-up to Christmas, as well as seasonal afternoon teas for delivery on Saturdays, a big lunch for December 25 which customers will need to collect, and a New Year’s Eve feast for collection too. “Christmas may not be the same this year but we are here to make it joyful however you choose to celebrate it,” Brocco says. “Chef Leslie Buddington and team have created menus to minimise time in the kitchen so you can truly appreciate relaxed time with a loved one.” (https://www.brocco.co.uk/christmas)

PJ Taste

Catering company PJ Taste, based in Darnall, has devised a menu for Christmas Day lunch which can be booked for delivery or collection. Main course options are ballotine of tender roast turkey with a Moss Valley pork and sage stuffing, feather blade of beef or celeriac and chestnut mushroom pie, served with all the trimmings. Starters and desserts are factored in and there are optional extras including drinks. Domo

Kelham Island restaurant Domo, which specialises in Sardinian food, has promised to have a Christmas menu for delivery and collection now that Tier 3 restrictions have been confirmed for Sheffield. Further details are expected soon. (https://www.domorestaurant.co.uk)

Pieminister

For something a little different, Pieminister on Division Street is delivering Christmas pies via Uber Eats. The ‘festive feast’ allows customers to pick a pie of their choice on a bed of buttery mash, topped with carrot and swede mash, parsnip crisps, and gravy with a stuffing ball stick. Pies range from Mistlemoo – British beef steak, bacon and port – and The Cracker – turkey, ham, cranberry, parsnip and sherry – to Christingle, which contains honey roast parsnip, chestnut, cheddar cheese and leek, and Dear Santa, filled with venison, bacon, red wine and lentils. Butcher & Catch
