Following the TBPA and Hollywood Bowl #BringBackBowling campaign - designed to protect the 8,000 ten pin bowling industry – wide jobs by calling on the Government to allow bowling alleys to reopen, the sector has now been given the approval to reopen.

From August 1, 53 Hollywood Bowl centres across the country, including the one at Sheffield Leisure Park, will welcome back friends and family to let the good times roll for the first time since lockdown restrictions began in March.

Stephen Burns, Chief Executive at Hollywood Bowl Group said: “Whilst it’s a little later than originally planned, we’re delighted to finally be able to open our centres again.

“The health and safety of our customers and team remains our priority. Whether it’s to bowl, enjoy the amusement areas, have a bite to eat or something to drink, we want to assure our customers that we are doing everything we can to create a safe and fun experience for families to return to. We look forward to welcoming them back through our doors.”

Hollywood Bowl said it has been working hard to put stringent safety and cleaning measures in place alongside “Have Fun – Play Safe” guidance to welcome back its customers and team members.

The reopening will see the introduction of enhanced cleaning and social distancing measures, with customer guidance throughout the centres also in place.

Changes will include groups will be restricted to a maximum of six people, enhanced cleaning after every game, safety shields at tills and PPE and daily temperature checks for staff.

Each centre will only use alternate lanes, to provide extra space between each game taking place and amusement machines and seating will be spaced out.

Food and drink can be pre-ordered from the in-centre diners and bars, with cutlery and sauces provided to guests with their meal.

Customers are now able to make bookings via the Hollywood Bowl website.
