New ONE HOUR grocery delivery service launched in Sheffield

The Grocemania app and online platform is available to use in Sheffield now, and allows customers to buy groceries from local stores, including the likes of Nisa, Londis and Spar stores located in BP petrol stations, as well as independent retailers.

There is no minimum spend on orders and the app charges a fixed delivery fee of £4.50 on orders under £10; £2.50 on orders between £10 and £30; and free delivery for orders over £30.

Sheffield users can receive £10 off their first Grocemania order, using the code: SHEFFGM.Askar Bulegenov, founder and director of Grocemania, said: “While the UK is beginning to reopen after lockdown, there remains a need for rapid grocery delivery services – particularly among vulnerable people who are either comfortable or unable to venture to the shops.

“Grocemania is answering the call, providing people who live and around Sheffield with the convenience of our one-hour grocery delivery service.

"Residents across the city can get fresh produce delivered to their front door quickly and safely, while simultaneously supporting the independent local retailers listed on the app.

"From small supermarkets and convenience stores through to corner shops and independent grocers, we are making sure that everyone has access to fresh produce, whenever they need to restock their cupboards.”

Grocemania launched in February 2019, and is already operational in London, Bristol and Brighton, making Sheffield the fourth city to have access to the rapid grocery delivery service.

The start-up firm says it is preparing for expansion across North England and has set its sights on launching in Leeds and Birmingham over the coming months.

Earlier this year, Grocemania secured £173,000 in its latest funding round, far exceeding its initial £100,000 target.

It also has partnerships with the consumer goods giants Unilever and Pepsico.
