They will play their only Yorkshire date at the Keepmoat Stadium - home of Doncaster Rovers - on Tuesday, May 26.

Special guests are chart-topping indie stars Blossoms.

Las Vegas rockers The Killers, who have had five number one albums and world wide hits including Human, Mr Brightside and Somebody Told Me, will be promoting soon to be released sixth studio album, Imploding The Mirage.

They had already sold out every original date on their 2020 Imploding The Mirage stadium tour, with fans snapping up an incredible 250,000 tickets in just two hours for Falkirk, Manchester, Norwich, Southampton, London, Bristol, Coventry, Middlesbrough and Dublin.

Extra shows were added but only London’s Emirates Stadium tickets remain and are now limited.

Tickets for Doncaster, which now also becomes the first night of the 12 date tour, go on sale this Friday, February 21, at 9am at www.ticketmaster.co.uk and www.gigsandtours.com.

And fans are being urged to get them quickly as they are also expected to sell fast.

It will be the first concert at the Keepmoat since Westife in 2011 and follows other big name performances at the stadium by Sir Elton John, Bryan Adams, John Parr, McFly and Ronan Keating.

Doncaster's Keepmoat Stadium also plan to show Bohemian Rhapsody and Mamma Mia in an outdoor cinema on the pitch the same week as The Killers, with screenings Thursday and Friday, May 28 and 29.

The return of live music to the venue, headlined by a band who have been selling out stadiums around the world, is a major coup for the Keepmoat.

It will help to supercharge its standing as a concert venue, with huge additional benefits to the local economy - not least of all boosting hotel bookings, food and drink sales.
