5. Onesmoor from High Bradfield
This walk starts at Brown House Lane, near the Old Horns pub, and explores Onesmoor, taking in Castle Hill earthworks and great views. This walk is sponsored at bradfield-walkers.org.uk by the Old Horns, which reopens on May 17. Try The Plough in Low Bradfield or Bradfield Brewery pub the Nags Head instead.

6. Calver river walk
This is a lovely level, short walk - distance 2.5 miles - along the River Derwent between Calver and Froggatt. Keep an eye out for birdlife such as dippers and grey wagtails on the river and admire the lovely 17th-century bridge at Froggatt. 7. Rivelin Corn Mill
Described on stocksbridge-walkers.org.uk as "a short circular walk along the Rivelin valley, west of Sheffield. The route takes the riverside path, before ascending to views over the Rivelin Valley and returning via an ancient route, Coppice Wood, and a bridleway". Starts at Rails Road car park and you can visit the Rivelin Hotel but will need to book.

8. Woodland walk, Ford to Troway
The Moss Valley is a fantastic area for walkers and this one starts from the Ford picnic area at the side of the Bridge Inn. It goes through the beautiful woods, taking in the Seldom Seen engine house. Pop into Troway Hall to buy some of their honey.
