All Sheffield Travelodges to open for business this week - here is how they plan to protect customers from coronavirus

Travelodge, the UK’s first budget hotel chain has accelerated its hotel reopening programme and is reopening a further 100 Travelodge hotels across the UK including Sheffield Richmond Travelodge this week.

And, with the reopening of Sheffield Richmond Travelodge on Prince of Wales Road, the company’s three Sheffield hotels are now open for business.

As part of its hotel reopening programme, Travelodge has invested in a multi-million pound Covid-19 safety and social distance programme called Travelodge Protect+.

Travelodge Protect+ will include cleaning with an antiviral disinfectant, thermally disinfecting linen and towels and protective equipment for all hotel team members.

During lockdown, Travelodge kept 62 hotels open across the UK from Plymouth to Aberdeen to support key, critical workers, vulnerable groups and local authorities.

Shakila Ahmed, a Travelodge spokeswoman said: “We are delighted to reopen our Sheffield Richmond Travelodge which marks the completion of our Sheffield hotel reopening programme. Our three Sheffield hotels are now open for business and the hotel teams are geared up for a busy summer season.

“With safety at the forefront of our business, we have worked closely with our hotel teams that stayed open during the lockdown, government and industry bodies to develop our new Covid-19 safety programme called TravelodgeProtect+. This safety programme is designed to keep our customers and teams safe and has been implemented into all Travelodge hotels and features in our three Sheffield Travelodge hotels.”
