The last two years have proven extremely difficult for the hospitality trade – but the annual Michelin Guide’s authors haven’t been deterred in their mission to highlight fine cooking.
The online version of the gastronomic bible, which highlights the country’s top restaurants by giving out stars and recommendations, has been released today.
No Sheffield restaurant was awarded a new Michelin star again this year.
But a number of restaurants in the city – and the Peak District – have been recommended as places diners should visit.
Find out which ones made the grade below.

5. Samuel Fox Country Inn at Bradwell
The Michelin Guide said: "An attractive, light-stone pub with smart, cosy bedrooms and a dramatic, hilly backdrop: named after the inventor of the steel-ribbed umbrella, who was born in the village. Flavourful classic dishes have modern touches and make good use of seasonal local produce. Popular 7 course tasting menu." Photo: Dean Atkins
The Michelin Guide said: "A fine Edwardian manor house with a classic country house feel and impressive formal grounds plays host to two dining rooms with lovely ornate ceilings. Menus offer a mix of classic and more original modern dishes; sit at the ‘Kitchen Tasting Bench’ to be part of the action. Bedrooms are charming." Photo: Sarah Washbourn
The Michelin Guide said: "An elegant hotel restaurant where old mullioned stone windows, oak ‘Mousey Thompson’ furnishings and antique oil paintings are juxtaposed with modern lighting and contemporary art. Modern cooking is ingredient-led and has fresh, clean flavours; alongside, they offer some more traditional ‘Classics’." Photo: Andrew Roe
The Michelin Guide said: "This stone inn boasts a hugely characterful low-beamed bar and a modern glass extension with views of the stream. A few pub favourites sit alongside some more interesting dishes and estate produce is used to the full. Choose a cosy bedroom in the inn or a modern room in the old dovecote or nearby cottages."
