Here are 10 of the best events in Sheffield and the Peak District you can look forward to enjoying this summer

Events have been cancelled across the board over the past year, from sporting activities and music festivals to markets and theatre productions as well as much more besides.

While this empty calendar has come about for completely understandable public health reasons, the Government’s roadmap to ending lockdown restrictions has finally offered a glimmer of hope that a significant return to normality may be on the cards this summer, if the vaccine rollout continues to succeed and there are no unforeseen setbacks.

Importantly, most social contact rules could be eased outdoors from May 17, according to the official plan, while ‘all legal limits on social contact’ could be removed from June 21.

This bodes well for events in Sheffield and the Peak District that have their dates in the warmer months. Here are 10 of the best to look forward to.
