Thieves target firm a second time

THE owner of a Sheffield coach company whose vehicles had to be taken off the road when they were targeted by thieves has suffered a repeat attack.

Roy Eales, owner of Royale’s Travel in Ecclesfield, had his two 49-seater coaches ransacked as thieves smashed the door locks and stole cash, a portable TV and a stereo.

Mr Eales, who runs the company with his son Ricky, had new locks put on the doors but, days later, the thieves returned in the dead of night.

They smashed the new locks and also targeted vehicles belonging to neighbouring Wizard Coaches.

Wizard owner Dave McDonald, 56, said: “They took a TV monitor, a sat nav and a DVD player and had them by the side of the coaches in two carrier bags.

“We think a security man disturbed them as the bags were still there in the morning.”

Mr Eales said: “I’m devastated. I don’t know what to do.”

A police spokeswoman said officers are investigating, and appealed for witnesses.
