Dan, or the Anti-Conjuror as he is know, is one of seven of the world’s top magicians who star in the jaw-dropping show The Illusionists.
They are on a world tour and will appear before your very eyes with two shows at Sheffield City Hall on Sunday, October 6, 6pm and 9pm.
To celebrate we have a trick of the day, every day in the week up to the show - each performed by one of the Illusionists.
We are also giving you the chance to win tickets. See the bottom of this story.

DO NOT WATCH IF YOU ARE SQEAMISH. BUT REMEMBER - THIS IS ONLY AN ILLUSION.
Goth magician Dan looks like a cross between Marilyn Manson and The Cure frontman Robert Smith.
But he was inspired by magic after a trip to see the legendary illusionist David Copperfield as a little boy.
Now the 27-year-old is thrilling audiences around the world with his own unique blend of shocks and magic.
Dressed in black, one of his tricks involves swallowing a piece of thread and then pulling it out of his eye, and threading wire through his throat.
“I don’t want to gross people out just for the sake of it. I’m not a side show. It’s more about wonder and amazement. Shocking people is just a bonus,” he says.
WATCH OUR OTHER TRICKS OF THE DAY:
The Illusionists, described by creative director Simon Painter as the ‘Avengers of Magic’, each with their own comic book type super-hero image and show poster to match, also features The Enchantress Jinger Leigh, The Trickster Jeff Hobson, The Anti Conjuror Dan Sperry, The Escapologist Andrew Basso and The Gentlemen Mark Kalin.
Each is a master in their own field and, with the help of 20 assistants, they perform the spectacular tricks from their hugely impressive repertoires.
There are acts of grand illusion, levitation, mind-reading, disappearance and for the first time ever in history, a full view water torture escape - recreating Harry Houdini’s death defying routine, but with no drapes, for 21st century audiences to witness the impossible, as the poster says. It lives up to the promise.
