THE age-old tradition of Christmas pantos is still going strong in Rotherham, with the town’s Civic Theatre proving popular over the festive season.

And as far as pantomimes go they don’t get much bigger than Jack and the Beanstalk.

Topping the bill this year is former X Factor finalist Chico, who started and ended the show with his hit Chico Time - earning him a new generation of fans.

Young and old, members of the audience laughed and giggled their way through the show, booed at the baddie and clapped to the songs.

They shrieked when they were soaked with water pistols and laughed at comedian Dean Winters, who played Muddles, when he was hit with eggs, flour and water.

This giant of a panto is perfect family entertainment.
