Jo Caulfield, The Lescar

Regularly seen on our TV screens on Michael McIntyre’s Comedy Roadshow, Have I Got News For You and Mock The Week, Jo Caulfield is one of the UK’s finest female comics.

She has recently been nominated as the best female stand-up in the country by the comedy website and was named as one of the Top 100 Comedians by Channel 4. Jo was also Graham Norton’s head writer for all five seasons of the BAFTA-winning series, So Graham Norton.

Her radio shows include appearances on The News Quiz, Armando Iannucci’s Charm Offensive and The Steve Wright Show, as well as her own critically-acclaimed Radio 4 comedy show, It’s That Jo Caulfield Again.

Jo is appearing at the regular Last Laugh comedy night at the pub in Sharrow Vale Road tomorrow (Thursday) at 8pm as part of her tour, called Celebration of Anger.

The show explores the things that irritate, annoy and irk and embraces the joys of getting angry about them, no matter how petty they may seem to others.

“I’m a great believer in letting rip and expressing my anger,” said Jo, “Whether it’s prompted by someone being rude, the ridiculous romantic rituals my friends are following, or life in general.

I love to have a good rant – it’s the only sensible approach most of the time.

“ Let’s face it, so many things are annoying or unnecessarily silly that if you don’t stop to laugh at them they may very well drive you up the wall.”
