This is a very special year for Wales Methodist Pantomime Players.
No-one thought that when Roy Staniforth presented his first pantomime 70 years ago that the group would still be going from strength to strength. Nick Challenger jumped into Roy’s bra three years ago when he took over the roles of producer and Dame.
Tonight more than 100 people from the community around Kiveton Park will be involved in the opening night of Jack and the Beanstalk in Surrey Street, Sheffield city centre.
Whether they are on stage as principal boy and girl, our cow Molly, the Giant or part of the chorus, they are part of a massive team effort along with the backstage crew.
The show, which runs from tonight to next Saturday, January 17, is supporting Sheffield Fostering Services, Alzheimer’s Society, CLIC Sargent and The Samaritans.
