Motormouth comedian Gina Yashere arrives at Barnsley Civic tomorrow, Friday, on her Laugh Riot tour.

Gina has been a stand-up and TV star in the UK for several years, with appearances on hit shows such as Live At The Apollo and Mock The Week.

She broke on to the American comedy scene with her appearances on Last Comic Standing on NBC, where she made it to the final 10.

That recognition helped to win her regular appearances on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno as Madame Yashere, the Surly Psychic.

Her bombastic delivery, infectious personality and cheeky observations have wowed audiences not just in the UK and the US but also all over the globe .

In Laugh Riot, Gina talks about her recent move to New York and the ridiculous auditions which made her leave Los Angeles.

She also admits her new fear of cats after being terrorised by three super-intelligent felines at her friend’s house and talks about being coughed on, stared at and followed in China and finding herself in a brothel in Singapore.

Gina hails from London via Nigerian parents and shoots from the hip. Her unique take on being both a cultural insider and outsider never fails to raise the roof. Following an early career as a lift engineer, Gina made her comedy debut at the Edinburgh Festival in 1997.

The show sold out almost immediately and overnight both audiences and critics were smitten.
