Stuntman Marcelo's sharp routine wows singer Donny

A SHEFFIELD stuntman proved himself at the cutting edge of entertainment - when he jumped through a hoop of razor sharp knives on national television!

Chapeltown man Marcelo de Ramas performed the breathtaking stunt on the BBC’s new quiz show ‘Identity’ presented by Donny Osmond.

And he so enthralled the US crooner with his trick that he asked to take part by holding the hoop as he leapt through it.

Marcelo, aged 37, who was taking part in the show with the identity of an acrobat, said: “Donny came across as a really nice, genuine guy and when the producer agreed to letting him assist with the knife stunt, he was delighted!”

The BBC2 show sees contestants, with the help of body language experts, try to match 12 strangers with their identity to win 10,000.

Donny is not the only celebrity to have been wowed by Marcelo’s talents this year - he also impressed TV’s Mr Nasty Simon Cowell on his Britain’s Got Talent show.

Brazilian Marcelo’s CV includes being able to dive through hoops and leap over cars among other extreme gymnastic moves.

His talents run in the family too - last week The Star reported how his son Jordan had scooped silver in the tumbling event at the European Gymnastics Championships in Poland this summer.
