South Yorks MP in talks over Burma
A LOCAL politician is at the forefront of Britain's response to the escalating security situation in Burma - which has seen brutal suppression of street protests.
Sheffield Heeley MP and Foreign Office Minister Meg Munn has met with several pro-democracy movements including the Burma Campaign UK and Christian Solidarity Worldwide to discuss events in the South-East Asian state.
She reinforced the government's commitment to maintaining international pressure on the Burmese regime not to use force against those protesting in support of democratic change.
