Some ghostly goings on

WIZARDS and ghosts will be lining up to help provide entertainment for the whole family during Chesterfield Market Festival.

Running from Thursday October 25 to Sunday October 28 the festival will culminate in an atmospheric lantern parade.

Supernatural Ghost Walks will be run from Chesterfield Tourist Information Centre on Thursday and Saturday and famous literary characters will feature in a Harry Potter-themed day in the market area on the Saturday, when fans will be able to make their own wizards' hats and wands.

The Pomegranate Theatre will host a storytelling session on the Thursday and later that day there will be a mix of poems, magic tricks and puppets at Chesterfield Library.

Coun Ray Russell said: "With such a wide range of events and activities for all the family during Chesterfield Market Festival, there's really no excuse for anyone to be bored.

"I hope as many people as possible will support this highlight of the town's calendar by coming along to enjoy a broad spectrum of activities encompassing everything from comedy and drama to music and magic."
