Smart new gear puts club right on track

PLAYERS at a Sheffield junior football club are some of the smartest in the city thanks to a new sponsorship deal with waste disposal giant Veolia.

The Sheffield Six's signed a deal with Veolia for blue and red tracksuits for this season.

The club was founded in 2003 and has a range of teams from under-nines to under-15s. Teams play in the Sheffield and District Junior Sunday League and have members from all over Sheffield.

The next project is to open a teaching academy for six- to seven-year-old boys and girls at the end of this month – all sections of the club already have qualified coaches.

Assistant manager Andy Foster said: "The Six's is a club that recognises the importance of team spirit and we are loyal to our players.

"We are very grateful to Veolia for sponsoring the tracksuits, the lads are very proud to wear them."

Veolia spokeswoman Clare Froggatt said: "The team have real get-up-and-go and have made great progress through hard work and commitment.

"They are a very important part of the community and we are very happy to be able to support them. With continued efforts, I am sure they will do well this season."
