Lauren Taylor, aged 22, has been selected to appear in the world famous European Holiday On Ice tour.

Lauren, who trains and coaches at iceSheffield on Coleridge Rd, Attercliffe, will perform in the forthcoming tour called Mystery.

She beat off competition from some of the world's best skaters at a rigorous audition in Cardiff by impressing judges with her skating skill and fast foot work.

She is the only UK skater to win the National Ice Skating Association Cup three times in a row and she has also competed at international level for Great Britain. Lauren, originally from Wybers Wood in Grimsby, moved to Sheffield four years ago.

She said: "I've been a fan of Holiday On Ice ever since I was eight years old when I first started ice skating so it is a dream come true to be selected to perform in the show.

"I've skated in professional shows in France, Spain and Georgia before but nothing quite on the scale of Holiday On Ice.

"We'll be touring ice venues all over Europe performing about 10 shows a week over eight months so it is quite a gruelling schedule."

Lauren heads to Holland on October 1 for a week of rehearsals before the Mystery tour, choreographed by Olympic skating Champion Robin Cousins, starts in France on October 9.
