Sheffield makers showcase their art at fair

The Great Northern Contemporary Craft Fair, GNCCF, is coming to Sheffield later this month as part of Making Ways, a three-year project that will celebrate exceptional contemporary visual art produced in the city.

The event, featuring 75 makers will take place from Friday July 27 to Sunday July 29 at the Millennium Gallery in Sheffield.

The makers who are taking part in the fair, including many from Sheffield and South Yorkshire, have been chosen by an independent panel of craft experts.

They will be selling a range of contemporary pieces at the event, including jewellery, interior and fashion textiles, glass, ceramics, metalwork, furniture, print-making and more.

Angela Mann and Ann-Marie Franey founded the GNCCF ten years ago, with the aim of championing and promoting contemporary craft and designer-makers across the north.

Ann-Marie said: “We’re really excited to bring the GNCCF to Sheffield, a city with a strong history of making. The show promises an exciting line up of designer-makers from a variety of craft disciplines.”
