Bustling Sharrow Vale Market returns with traffic-free browsing and independent stalls

One of Sheffield’s most popular street events is set to return this spring, as Sharrow Vale Market takes over the road once again.

Held three times a year, the much-loved market transforms Sharrow Vale Road into a bustling, traffic-free hub, with hundreds of stalls and visitors expected to attend.

The market will return on Sunday April 19, from 12pm-4pm.

Running from Hunters Bar Roundabout through to Stewart Road and the Peaks car parks, the event will also extend into the courtyard at Dyson Place.

The market is known for its vibrant mix of traders - offering everything from locally-sourced produce and homemade baked goods to international street food, handmade crafts, clothing and plants.

Alongside the stalls, many of the area’s independent shops, pubs and cafés open their doors - often accompanied by live entertainment.

Organised by volunteers from the Sharrow Vale Community Association (SVCA), the market is a not-for-profit event.

Stall fees are used to cover essential costs such as insurance and road closures, with any remaining funds reinvested into local charities or community projects aimed at improving the area.

Around 100 stalls typically line the road, drawing visitors from across the city and beyond.

The market runs from 12pm to 4pm on each event day.

Applications for traders opened earlier this year in January, with high demand expected once again for space at the popular event.

Further market dates have also been confirmed for 2026, with events scheduled for July 12 and December 6.

For more information, including trader applications and updates, visitors can head to the SVCA website.
