Schools form partnership
TWO Chesterfield schools have formed a unique partnership to create a strong support network between the two institutions.
Gilbert Heathcote Nursery and Infant School, on Scarsdale Road, and Cavendish Junior School, on Edmund Street, now have one headteacher and governing body but will continue to operate separately.
The new federation, formed with the support of parents, Derbyshire County Council and other schools will lead to a high degree of collaboration, including the flexible use of buildings and staff, and although the schools are still funded individually they have the flexibility to pool budgets.
