Return of the diva

SOUTH Yorkshire diva Lesley Garrett is back in Sheffield to help celebrate 75 years of the City Hall - and she couldn't be more happy..

She brings her show back to her home county with a line-up that pushes her work in a new direction.

Lesley and guests - including the Sheffield Philharmonic Choir, Anton Du Beke and Erin Boag from Strictly Come Dancing join together in a celebration concert that Lesley hopes will challenge her favourite audience.

"It's wonderful to be in Sheffield for the 75th anniversary of the City Hall," said the singer, originally from Thorne near Doncaster.

"It always means a lot to me to play in South Yorkshire and I always feel I have to put on a fantastic show. People in Yorkshire know good music and I respect that.

"It inspires me rather than put pressure on me and it makes me push to reach a higher standard and produce a better show."
