£1,000 raised for Neurocare

A CHESTERFIELD man has raised more than £1,000 for the Sheffield hospital where he was treated for a rare neurological disorder - after tackling the Three Peaks Challenge.

Steve Hill, aged 50, from Wingerworth, and friend David Sharratt battled snow and torrential rain to reach the summits of Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon in three days.

The 3,400-metre challenge - and 1,080 miles travelled by road - was in aid of Neurocare, which raises funds for the Department of Neurology at Sheffield’s Royal Hallamshire Hospital.

Mr Hill decided to raise funds for Neurocare after being treated at the hospital for the rare hormonal disorder acromegaly.
