Property developers take a hike for charity

A TEAM of property developers from Sheffield left behind their home comforts to take part in an 18-mile hiking challenge.

Five members of staff from George Wimpey South Yorkshire faced mental and orienteering tests along the way - and camped overnight in a homemade shelter.

They were taking part in the Hopebuilder Challenge - an annual charity event organised by The National House-Building Council which invites developers from across the country to raise money for Habitat for Humanity which works to build houses for families living in poverty.

George Wimpey gave the charity a welcome cash boost, by sponsoring their team 5,000. The Sheffield team - Laura Fox, Jolene Harrison, Dave Murray, John Armstrong and Richard Hulbert - were one of 22 to take part in the competition, which involved hiking through the Edale Valley and up Mam Tor.
