A ROTHERHAM man is being hunted by police after escaping from prison.

Sudbury is a Category D open prison, where inmates can wander around freely but have to turn up for a number of daily roll-calls.

Plant, whose last known address was in Thrybergh, Rotherham, is white, 5ft 9ins, slim, with short fair hair, hazel eyes and a Yorkshire accent.

He has numerous scars, marks and tattoos.

Prolific burglar Leighton Wild, from Windy House Lane, Manor, Sheffield, is still on the run from the same prison after absconding while on a home visit last month.

He was jailed for five years in 2005 for stealing property worth 30,000 after breaking into 20 homes and attempting to break into another 12.

Anyone with information about either escaped prisoner should call Derbyshire Police on 0845 1233333.
