Police bid to name victim

POLICE are appealing for help from the public to identify a man found dead at Brightside disused railway station.

The man, aged between 18 and 35, was discovered hanging from a bridge, near Jenkin Lane, above railway tracks by a train driver at just after 7am.

Det Insp David Boldison, from British Transport Police, said: “The deceased had no formal identification and at this stage we have received no reports of any missing persons matching his description.

“I am appealing for any member of the public who may be able to help us to identify the deceased or may have a friend or family member matching the description to contact British Transport Police on 0800 405040.
