The winner of the entire competition, being held in Buxton, will get the chance to read their work at the town's annual festival and also exhibit their work at the University of Derby's Devonshire Campus in the town.

The contest will be launched on Thursday, October 4 - National Poetry Day.

Poems entered into the contest must address the theme of water as its importance and abundance has shaped Buxton's development.
