Aside from German record label Chillball Music releasing his album Late At Night on iTunes last week the Woodhouse composer is also moving feet on the sunshine isle of Ibiza.

His new 13-track album features collaborations with London singer Lucie Burns, on Sunrise and I Love You, and coincides with Hamburg’s Chillball Music also releasing Spa 2, a compilation album that includes four Michael e tracks, including Castaway and The Crossing from thr Sheffielder’s Beautiful World album.

The title track from that plus his song It's Another Lovely Day feature on compilation record A Trip To Ibiza 2. And Macao Cafe Music on the Ballaeric island have also taken three tracks - Depart 74, Fall In Love With Me and The Things They Say - for a compilation while La Torre, in Ibiza, have nabbed I Can Only Dream for their compilation.

”It's been a pretty succesful time so far this year,” says Michael (real surname Frith), who operates out of a home studio. “I've also completed a snippet of music for the Australian Environmental Agency.”

Add to that the first fruits of his deal with Curve Digital - they release his 14-track album A Better World in early September - it’s fast turning hectic for the veteran musician.

“I've also worked with Moira Monsoon from Amsterdam and I recently met Eloisia De Silva (Loysa Lenn) in Paris to discuss a track. And I’m just

completing a version of Beautiful World with Seamus Dark from London.”

Not surprisingly, all this has left Michael in a positive frame of mind. “I've had countless radio plays on radio stations around the world and all in all things are moving in a positve direction,” he says.

“I also started another site on MySpace called Her Beautiful Garden (where he cites Claus Ogerman, Vangelis, Ravel, Debussy, Francis Lai, Ennio Morricone, Mark Isham as influences) to concentrate on music without beats - all together more gentle and laid back but emotional too, I hope.”

Also check out some of the sultry images on Michael’s MySpace sites. “I'm passionate about photography, although I'm probably the least technically adept snapper in the world. I just point it and press the big button on top.”

Maybe he will get the chance to take a few on a certain Spanish island. He is hoping to visit Ibiza to witness first hand how his music is received. “It is ironic but I've never been to Ibiza,” he adds. “I've had an invite for September to meet up with Bebel from Macao Cafe Music but I don't think I can make it. “It would be nice to get out there, though, and hand out a few CDs to the DJs, cafes and restaurants. Spread the word a bit.”
